PHASE
Consultation & Requirements Definition
We discuss your product specifications, operating environment and target cost to determine the most suitable approach for SHIBATA ENGINE.
What Shibata Does
- Arrange an on-site visit or online meeting with our sales and technical teams.
- Review the intended use, operating environment, required specifications and target cost.
- Discuss performance expectations and sales strategy.
- Review drawings and dimensional data for the existing product.
What You Provide
- Engineering drawings and dimensional data for the product.
- Required specifications, including flow rate, pressure, materials and connection type.
- Target cost and schedule.
- Design and branding requirements.
-
PHASE
Concept Design & Simulation
We use fluid-flow simulation to determine the optimum core geometry and present expected performance figures and estimated costs.
What Shibata Does
- Carry out fluid-flow simulation and analysis.
- Present SHIBATA ENGINE specifications and expected performance figures.
- Provide estimated costs, including prototyping and molds.
- Propose multiple options where appropriate.
What You Review and Approve
- Review simulation results and provide feedback.
- Approve the proposed direction.
-
PHASE
Final Specifications & Cost Confirmation
We review manufacturing methods and quality requirements, finalize product specifications such as structure, appearance, materials and color, and formally present the costs and schedule.
What Shibata Does
- Conduct a joint review by engineering, procurement, manufacturing and quality teams.
- Define manufacturing methods and quality standards.
- Finalize specifications for structure, appearance, materials, color and other requirements.
- Plan and finalize packaging specifications.
- Provide a formal quotation for product, prototyping and mold costs.
What You Review and Approve
- Review and approve the final specifications.
- Approve the costs and schedule.
- Participate in additional meetings as needed.
-
PHASE
Prototype Production & Performance Evaluation
We produce prototypes and measure and evaluate their UFB performance in-house. Samples are then delivered to you for integration testing in your actual equipment.
What Shibata Does
- Produce prototypes.
- Verify that there are no manufacturing or quality issues.
- Measure and evaluate UFB performance using SALD-7500nano and BLASE.
- Send samples to you.
What You Review and Test
- Review the concept drawings.
- Test prototype integration in your equipment.
- Provide feedback on the evaluation results.
Prototype production lead time: approximately 2–3 months
-
PHASE
Production Design & Validation
Based on prototype evaluation results, we address any issues and make design changes. We then confirm that the required specifications and performance are met before moving toward mass production.
What Shibata Does
- Modify the design based on prototype evaluation results.
- Resolve issues and implement improvements.
- Optimize the manufacturing process for mass production.
- Provide a final report confirming the required specifications and performance.
What You Review and Approve
- Review and give final approval of the revised prototype.
- Authorize the transition to mass production.
-
PHASE
Production Mold Preparation & Molded Sample Evaluation
We produce the production mold and conduct final quality verification using molded parts, confirming readiness for mass production in terms of both UFB performance and manufacturing quality.
What Shibata Does
- Arrange and manufacture production molds.
- Measure and evaluate UFB performance using molded parts.
- Conduct final verification that there are no manufacturing or quality issues.
What You Review
- Perform the final review of samples made with the production mold.
Production mold lead time: approximately 6 months to 1 year
-
PHASE
Start of Production Supply
We begin the stable supply of production units, with flexible delivery arrangements, destinations and schedules tailored to your requirements.
What Shibata Does
- Establish ongoing supply by production lot.
- Maintain quality control and inspection systems.
- Propose specification improvements and cost reductions where appropriate.
What You Specify
- Delivery arrangements, destination and required delivery date.
- Order lot quantities.
Production delivery lead time (second and subsequent orders): approximately 1 month after order receipt
